Cricket is a very famous and most entertaining game to the Asians. The Asia Cup 2022 is the 15th Edition of the Cricket Tournament organized by the Asian Cricket Council. This time Asia Cup 2022 is scheduled as a T20 format. India is the defending Champion.
In 2018 the ACC granted the Asia cup 2020 host rights to Pakistan but due to the ongoing political tension between India and Pakistan, the tournament was rescheduled on a neutral venue.

Backgrounds:
In June 2020, The PCB says that would be willing to let Sri Lanka host the Asia Cup 2020, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the regions, the ACC had decided that the Asia Cup 2020 will be Postponed till June 2021.
In March 2021 further delay in the tournament occur when India had Qualified for the Final of the World Test Championship and a clash occurred between the Schedule of Asia Cup 2021 and the World Test Championship.
However further delays occurs When ACC in October 2021 decided to postpone the Tournament till September 2022. During this ACC meeting, the Asia Cricket Council announced that Sri Lanka will host the Asia cup 2022 followed, and Pakistan is scheduled to host the Asia cup 2023.
Upon the request of BCCI, the ACC has finally postponed the Asia Cup 2022 Cricket till June 2022.

The Asia cup 2022 (Cricket) is now scheduled to be played in September 2022 in Sri Lanka. The Asia Cup 2022 is to be held in Sri Lanka and due to the ongoing current Political situation between India and Pakistan, Sri Lanka has been granted the Asia Cup hosting rights by the ACC while Pakistan will host the 2023 Asia Cup as announced by the ACC.
